This reinforces gender stereotypes because women are stereotypically expected to loo after the children when their husbands go off to work. This creates the ideology that women should stay at home and do what their husbands tells them to do. A feminist audience member may feel quite outraged about this as they believe men and women are equal however as the film is set in the past and is all about women rights a feminist audience member may feel happy that this has made it to the cinema and really reflects how far society has come.
